Station: McIvor, MI

McIvor was settled around 1882 on the Detroit, Bay City & Alpena railroad about four miles east of National City in Iosco County. It was originally called Arnbut renamed shortly thereafter. [MPN]

Time Line

1884. August 1. Forest fires the other morning destroyed twelve structures at McIvor station, near East Tawas. Several head of cattle were consumed. Meadows and crops were burned out between East Tawas and Bristol station, and at Alger station the second house and section car-house were consumed by fire. Large forces of men were fighting the flames [HBT-1884-0801]
