This was the interlocked crossing of the Michigan Central line between Mershon and West Bay City, and the interurban railroad between Bay City and West Saginaw. The exact location of the interlocking has not been determined.
This was likely a half-interlocker with a ground control stand with normal traffic routed for the MC.
1893. November 30. A northbound MC passenger train (No. 5) was approaching this crossing about the same time as an interurban car. The interurban car derailed at the interlocking and was partly across the track. The MC passenger train was able to stop in time. There were five passengers on the interurban, three women and two men. They were unhurt but frightened. The interurban car was moved later that day, with MC wrecking crews helping out. The car was removed to the Carrollton car shops. [SAG-1893-1130]
