June 19: The Surface Transportation Board approves the sale of the CSX line from Mt. Morris to Midland, and a branch from Saginaw to Bay City to the Saginaw Bay Southern Railway, closely organized with the Lake State Railway. The SBS also gains rights to operate between Saginaw and Paines on the HESR. [STB]
August 7: RailComm, Inc. successfully completes the installation of a Centralized Traffic Control (CTC) system for the Saginaw Bay southern Railway to operate their line from Mt. Morris to Saginaw. [RCOM]
