1917. Ann Arbor Car Ferry No. 6 arrives at Frankfort to enter lake car ferry service. [AATHA]
1974. The Arthur K. Atkinson is still out of service, stored at Boat Landing. [IT-1974-02]
1980. August 17. The Arthur K. Atkinson is repaired and recommissioned seven years after it was idled by engine failure. [AATHA]
2006. The former Ann Arbor car ferry, Arthur K. Atkinson, appears to be on her last days. Two years ago she was bought by an individual who had her towed to Detour in the Upper Peninsula. The owner's planned to use the vessel as some kind of tire recycling site but the dock owner wants the vessel gone. The most feasible plan being considered is to have the vessel scuttled and used as a dive site, possibly near Traverse City. [MRF-2006-12]
2011. December 21. The former AA railroad carferry Arthur K. Atkinson, long stored at DeTour, MI, was towed to Sault Ste. Marie and will be scrapped. The ferry was built in 1917 as Ann Arbor No. 6. [MRF-2012-04]
