Notes

The Derby Mine was operated by the American Mining Company. Work was begun in 1852 when two shafts were sunk on two of the four veins that crossed the property. Several buildings were built on the property as well to serve the mine. By 1863, two additional shafts were sunk with No. 1 being the deepest at 105 feet. All four shafts were producing barrel copper at that time. No other information is known of the Derby. [MINDAT]
