One mile west of the Michigamme Mine on the MH&O. N 1/2 of SW 1/4 and S1/2 of NW 1/4 of Section 24, T48-R30.

Had four shafts. Sometimes called the Spurr Mountain mine.

Time Line

1872. Received a double-end siding on the MH&O. H&O president H. N. Walker had a financial interest in this mine. [DSS]

1873. At the Spurr mine, there is only the MH&O depot and the mining capitain's house. The railroad lost two cars from the forest fire. The ore docks were not injured. The powder house, which had about 150 kegs of powder, escaped the fire. [DFP-1873-0625]

1878. Closed in 1878 due to lack of capital.
