The Pittsburg Mine is reported to have been located in Gogebic County near Wakefield but the exact location has not been identified. 46° 39' 50'' North , 89° 24' 29'' West

The Pittsburg Mining Company was organized in 1846 to work on several veins that crossed the property. Its location was close to the Sharon, Clifton, and Hudson mines along the Ontonagon River. All mining was conducted between 1852 and 1855 when three shafts were sunk on the veins. Several buildings were also erected near the mine. No records of ore shipments or company reports are known to exist from this mine. [MINDAT]
