The Quincy iron ore mine was located in Crystal Falls in Iron County. (Note: This is a different mine than the Quincy copper mine in Houghton).

Time Line

1882. Work was first done on this property but on account of water work was suspended the same year. [DD-1902-1206]

1887. Preparations are being made to further develop the Quincy property, situated west and near the Youngstown mine. The present working consists of one shaft which is 65 feet deep and shows up a considerable ore body. The shaft has been allowed to fill with water but it is learned that a boiler and pump will be put in and the mine cleared at once. [DD-1887-9423]
