Notes

One of seven original mines in the Crystal Falls area in 1882. Ore was traced by test pits on the west side of the property where a large body of ore was opened up. This ore body extended over the line and formed the Fairbank and Paint Mine.


Time Line

1881. Winter. The Fairbank mine commenced mining. [DD-1902-1206]

1907. The Milwaukee will run a spur of its own to the Fairbanks mine, now served only by the C&NW. [DD-1907-0202]

1914. March. The Fairbanks under the name of "Paint River", will send forth no more ore, the property having been stripped of its machinery and abandoned. [DD-1914-0321]
