Owned by: Cleveland-Cliffs Iron Co. along with Lloyd mine, then Inland Steel Co. as Morris mine since 1933.

Produced: Iron Ore, soft, red, non-bessemer.

Method: Underground, sub-level caving and sub-level stoping methods. Greatest depth was 1,850 feet.

Railroad connection: LS&I to Presque Isle dock; C&NW to Escanaba dock.

Until: 1950 but continuing

Lifetime Production: 7,829,387 tons between 1912-1950. Continues.
