Notes

As of 1950, this property is a reserve now being developed for production to begin in 1954. Property includes parts of the old Manganese and Bay State mines which were operated prior to 1886.

Most of the ore produced at Tracy Mine went via the DSS&A/Soo Line. This was one way the LS&I paid the Soo for relocating its old main line in the mid-1950's for the Mather Mine expansion. In the early 1960's, the LS&I started serving this facility. [Greg Stahl note on FB].

Time Line

1965. An active mine, operated by the Michigan Ore Division of the Jones I& Loughlin Steel Company. [DMP]
