Notes

Known first as Gribgen Mine or Gibbon, this was an exploration opened in 1873. Later in 1895-1896 worked under the name Mesabi's Friend. Reopened as Moore Mine in 1900; has not shipped since 1904. Known also as Royal Mine and Consolidated Mine. SE-SE Sec. 28 was known as the Laxey Mine.


Time Line

1917. Tracks to this mine, off the C&NW Cascade Branch (Loop Line east of Palmer) were taken out, including a coal trestle (near the hoist engine house), 3 storage tracks and other spurs. [CNWV]
