Owned by: Empire Iron Company (Oglebay, Norton & Co./M. A. Hannah agent) until 1914, then Empire Quinn Mining Co. Then leased to Cleveland-Cliffs Iron Co. (See Empire Mine (NEW)).

Produced: Iron Ore, hard, red siliceous, crushed.

Method: Surface mining, open pit. Was worked by open pit milling.

Railroad connection: DSS&A to Marquette; LS&I to Presque Isle

Until: 1928

Lifetime Production: 768,474 tons 1907-1928.
