Railroad: Manistique and Northwestern Railway Company, The

This was a logging railroad which was built from Manistique on the shore of Lake Michigan, north into the forests to a connection with the DSS&A at Shingleton. The line was soon sold to a successor railroad.

1896. The Escanaba Daily Press notes that in 196, the C-L Co. railway was taken over by the Ann Arbor railroad. [EDP-1956-0512] Ed. Note: This is likely the Chicago Lumbering Co.
