Time Line

1869. Line built from Muskegon to Ferrysburg.

1872. The Pennsylvania railroad bought control of the Michigan Lake Shore, for the purpose of operating between Allegan and Holland. They operated the line until 1878 when it was sold to a new owner under receivership. [FL]

1875. The PRR puts the railroad into bankruptcy. [FL]

1878. Foreclosure sale to Allegan & South Eastern railroad.

1879. The PRR continues to lease the line until 1882 when it is sold again to the Toledo & Milwaukee railroad. [FL]
