1871. January 12. The Detroit & Milwaukee and Great Western railroads have guaranteed the bonds of the Port Huron and Lake Michigan railroad, which will ensure its completion. This arrangement will make its western terminus at Owosso instead of Lansing. [LSJ-1871-0112]. Editor's note. The western terminus remained at Lansing, crossing the D&M at what would become Durand.
