Location: Jackson, MI - MC Coach Yard

Jackson Coard Yard Job Jackson Coard YardThe Michigan Central's coach yard was located on the north side of the main line just east of the baggage building at Jackson union station. In earlier years, a coach yard locomotive/crew added and subtracted cars from main line trains and made up trains for the various branch lines to Grand Rapids, Saginaw, Toledo, Cincinnati, Fort Wayne and Niles/South Bend.


Notes

According to old 1940's photographs, there were about four tracks in the coach yard.
