Station: Curtis, MI

Curtis MI Depot Curtis Depot Curtis was settled as the town of Portage but changed in 1905 to Curtis. It is located in northwest Mackinac County and was a station on the Manistique railroad. It was also known for a time as Sawaquato Beach. [MPN]

Time Line

1893. The Manistique railway is built into Curtis from the north. [MRL]

1906. The railroad is extended to Wilman. [MRL]

1910. The Manistique railway is sold to a lumber company and abandoned shortly thereafter. [MRL]
