Hogan Ore Yard was located 1/2 mile west of Eagle Mills on the joint C&NW line from Empire Jct. to Ishpeming. This yard was used as an overflow yard for ore cars which were used in Negaunee, Ishpeming and Republic area mines.
1966. Soo Line officials note they have a track circuit (code line) which was installed last fall through Hogan Ore Yard, which is part of our CTC system. This is connected up to various switches, which will cause severe delays to our train operation when we begin switching the Tracy Mine in April. [Memo to Soo Line superintendent]
