Location: Cascade Junction, MI

Cascade Junction was located on the C&NW main line between Escanaba and Ishpeming at milepost 169.1 (from Green Bay), just northwest of Goose Lake.

The CNW Cascade Branch (called the Loop Line) went west to Palmer, Tilden and north to Ishpeming off the C&NW main line here. This was a simple junction with a short 1,417' passing track on the main line and the junction switch itself. There was a telegraph office (described as a shed) and an adjacent dwelling here in 1917. There was also a short 1,678' passing track on the Cascade branch as it approached the main line. [CNWV]

In 1917,. the area around Cascade Junction was noted as "burnt pine".
