DSS&A's Upper Yard was located along their main line west of downtown and their ore dock. This yard also had a roundhouse and turntable (in the steam era) and an engine service facility (in the diesel era).

The DSS&A had a water tank here, at the roundhouse. [DSSM].

Time Line

1868. The M&O shops were rebuilt (following a fire downtown) at Fifth Street, made of sandstone with iron roofs. They included a new 9-stall roundhouse, a 52'x113' machine shop, a foundry and forge, carpenter shop. [DSS]
