Location: Menominee, MI - MILW Facilities

Menominee Roundhouses The depot and a small yard for the MILW were located along Rice Street, east of Pine Street in Menominee. The MILW had a depot here, along with coal shed, water tower and a 3-stall engine house with turntable.

Image Info: The Milwaukee Road and Wisconsin & Michigan railroads had nearby turntable and engine houses in Menominee, as shown in this Sanborn Map from 1921. The MILW was a three-track roundhouse (5-tracks) with turntable, sand house, coal shed and water tower. Just south across a wire fence, was the W&M turntable with a 2-straight-bay engine house also being used as a machine shop and car repair. The W&M also had a coal shed here. These facilities were south of Wells Avenue between 5th and 4th streets, not far from the Ann Arbor car ferry dock, which was switched by the W&M. [SBM-1921]
