Notes

Pontiac State Hospital, also known as the Clinton Valley Center, was a historic asylum in Pontiac, Michigan.  It was originally called the Eastern Michigan Asylum when it opened in 1878. In 1911, it was renamed Pontiac State Hospital, and in 1973 it became the Clinton Valley Center. The hospital closed in 1997 and was demolished in 2000. The hospital complex was on a Grand Trunk spur line which came south from the Pontiac Yard to the hospital complex. This spur was used for delivery of coal which heated and powered the hospital. The hospital was located at 140 Elizabeth Lake Road, Pontiac northeast of the intersection of Telegraph and Elizabeth Lake. It later became the Oakland Pointe Shopping Center.
