This bridge was built in 1890 to eliminate a grade crossing which had been the scene of several major accidents. It was built by a contractor named Griffon who used stones excavate from nearby Mill Creek.
The inside of the arch reads "H. B. Ledyard, Pres. - L.D. Hawks, Engineer). The bridge is 36' long and 30' wide.
Ledyard was along time president of the Michigan Central, and Hawks went on to become president of the Detroit & Mackinac railway.
The bridge continues to be used.
