Industry: Detroit, MI - Marathon Oil Refinery

The large Marathon Oil Refinery has operated since 1932 in southwest Detroit. The facility is also located in Melvindale, MI.

The facility started as Keystone Oil & Refining (from 1932-1937), then as Aurora Gasoline (1838-1959). It was operated by Ohio Oil (from 1960-1961) and thereafter as Marathon Oil. It was served by the PRR and GTW, though produce is also brought in by pipeline and out by truck or pipeline.
