Industry: Charlevoix, MI - St. Marys Cement Plant

The St. Marys Cement, a division of Votorantim, operates a cement plant just west of Charlevoix on Lake Michigan. The plant makes two types of Portland Cement, masonry cement and a blended hydraulic cement. They also have a plant in Detroit.

Also known as "Lamson". Located on the PM at milepost 221.5.


Time Line

1945. Owned by the Petoskey Portland Cement Company and ships raw materials and finished product by rail and water. [PM45]
