Location: Bay Mills, MI - Bay Mills Drawbridge

The DSS&A had a drawbridge on its Bay Mills branch, built in 1891. It was a 32 foot "jack knife" draw constructed of wood and iron. It was 2' 4" above the water line and the water had a 12 1/2 foot depth at the location. The bridge was moved by hand power. The bridge had "stop" boards 400 feet each way from the draw. [MCR-1904]
