Lathrup was a location on the C&NW line between Escanaba and Negaunee, about 28 miles north of Escanaba, and just south of the Marquette County line.

The railroad had a bay window depot here, as well as a 2,395 passing siding. There were also 2 short spurs, a tool house, water thank, pump house, coal house. [CNWV]
The railroad had a spur one half mile northwest of here called the Colburn's Spur. It was for the purpose of log landing.
1918. The C&NW had an agent here, as well as an operator here on the day shift. [TRT]
