Fosters was settled about 1831 and later became a station stop on the Grand Trunk Western railroad which ran between Durand and Saginaw. Fosters was about eight miles south of downtown Saginaw.
The station was named after Gardner Foster, a well known farmer here. [SCH-1893-0921]
1888. June. M.S. Stewart of Flint has been awarded the contract by the TS&M for the erection of five new depot, one in each of the following places: Foster's, Taymouth, Montrose, Lennon and Brent Creek. [SAG-1888-0601]
