Notes

Time Line

1905. The street railway strike situation today was less satisfactory than for several days past and was marked by several disturbances. The incoming Inter-urban car at noon was stoned at Columbus and Garfield avenues by a mob of several hundred persons, while a street car load of officers was busy at the ship yards. The Inter-urban crew carried Winchester rifles, but no attempt was made to use them nor were they shown. Nearly every glass in the car was shattered and one man was struck in the head with an iron rivet. [DFP-1905-0623]
