Notes

Time Line

1945. The Commission 9MPSC) is advised that no depot or side-track facilities are maintained at Thelma nor have there been any shipments in or out of Thelma since the year 1937, and that there are no industries in Thelma or any prospect of future business; that to continue Thelma as a non-agency, carload freight station would prove an uneconomic railroad operation. With this information, this Commission FINDS AND Holds that it is not justified in requiring the continuation of Thelma as a non-agency, carload freight station, and therefore said application should be granted. The Michigan Public Service Commission orders that permission shall be and authority is hereby granted to the Pennsylvania Railroad Company to abandon Thelma, Antrim County, Michigan, as a non-agency, carload freight station and such facilities as are now maintained there. [MPSC-1945]
