Huron Bay Ore DockHuron Bay was settled around 1892 as the lake terminus of the Iron Range & Huron Bay railroad, a line which was built but never really operated between Champion (in Marquette County) and the Lake Superior bay. A wood ore dock was built at Huron Bay for holding and transferring iron ore to freighters from rail cars.
