Notes

Time Line

1910. December. The new car shop of the railroad will soon be completed. The reinforced concrete room has been laid and the finishing touches are being put on the brick work. The building is entirely fire proof. The walls are built of brick, the windows are leaded and the panes are protected by steel wire. Large steel doors covered with zinc protect the entrances and the roof has been so constructed that it will stand an immense amount of heat and pressure.

The building is to replace the wooden building which was destroyed by fire early this summer. [CN-1910-1201]
